Sealed Bids will be received by Seattle Public Schools (“SPS” or “Owner”) for Washington Middle School Seismic Improvements in the following manner:  Part 1 will be received through and including 2:00 p.m. on February 3, 2021 at the Seattle Public Schools’ John Stanford Center, Contracting Services Section, 2445 Third Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134. Prior to 3:00 p.m. on such date, bidders shall submit Part 2, bids on alternates and MEP, Masonry, and FRP subcontractor work listings. Shortly after 3:00 p.m., bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the day and hour stated above will not receive consideration. Prior to 2:00 p.m. on February 5, 2021, within forty-eight (48) hours of the time and date for the Receipt of Bids, bidders shall submit Part 3, Structural Steel and Rebar subcontractor work listings, at the Seattle Public Schools’ John Stanford Center, Contracting Services Section, 2445 Third Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134 for Washington Middle School Seismic Improvements. Shortly after 2:00 p.m., subcontractor work listings will be publicly opened and read aloud. Work listings received after the day and hour stated above will not receive consideration. Owner reserves the right to postpone the Bid opening.


The work will include, but not be limited to, structural improvements including replacing interior CMU partitions with reinforced CMU shear walls, installation of fiber reinforced polymer reinforcement at roof and wall joints, associated removal, reinstallation, and relocation of architectural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and miscellaneous school and related school appurtenances, and selective demolition, removal and disposal of regulated building materials. The project will be completed in two phases during the Summers of 2021 and 2022. The cost range is $2,600,000 to $2,900,000.


The Project site is available for inspection by prospective bidders at a pre-bid site meeting and walk- through at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Washington Middle School, 2101 South Jackson Street, Seattle, WA 98144.
